There’s an old pearl of wisdom that says the reason we have family is so that we learn to spend time with people with whom we would otherwise never spend time with.
And while that’s sometimes true, I think it’s also true to say that because of family our lives are deeper, richer, more meaningful—or at the very least more interesting—than they would be otherwise.
So I want to lift a simple Christmas toast to family.
In good times.
In tough times.
When we’re easy to love. And when we’re not.
For better or worse, no matter where we are, no matter what we’re going through…
We never have to go it alone.
Because like it or not, we always have each other.
