Okay, here we go again! Gather ’round, because in the great, grand tradition of producing lists no one asked for but everyone secretly savors, I have yet another gem to bestow upon planet earth. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill, to-do lists, oh no. These are the random, totally unsolicited, but oddly delightful kind that will not change the world, but might just make your day a tad more interesting.

Now, before we dive in, let’s address the big, soccer ball-shaped elephant in the room. This is not a ‘best’ list. Why, you ask? Well, I might be brave enough to produce these lists, but when it comes to staking my claim on who the ‘best’ players are… let’s just say I’d rather pass the ball. I don’t want to risk any penalties or red cards in the fiercely contested game of soccer fandom.

So, in lieu of that, I present to you my utterly subjective, potentially controversial, but absolutely unapologetic list of my all-time favorite USMNT players. And remember, in the grand arena of list-making, this isn’t about winning or losing—it’s about how you play the game. Now let’s kick-off!

  • Demarcus Beasley
  • Clint Dempsey
  • Clint Mathis
  • Cobi Jones
  • Eddie Pope
  • Kasey Keller
  • Landon Donovan
(anyone who knows me understands Landon is my one true soccer love.)
  • Tab Ramos
  • Tim Howard
  • Steve Cherundolo
